“The Jig Is Up (Dump’n)” – Kendrick Lamar

K. Dot drops his new single produced by J.Cole and Canei Finch after one of the most successful weeks in LA rap history.

Not only does Kendrick Lamar rap as if he’s had this in his pad for months, but he drops this coming off the back of his hit, debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city. Deserved credit goes to Cole and Finch for the production; but all hail to “King Kendrick Lamar”, the new king of Compton, the new king of L.A. Possibly the new king of hip-hop?

J. Cole and K. Dot seem as if they’ve formed a strong bond with each other, no surprise, they both share incredible musical talent. From J. Cole going to support Kendrick at his show on the BET Music Matters Tour, they’re now working together. Hopefully we can expect this as a regular partnership.

Outstandingly, the track was said to be recorded in one night. If both K. Dot and Cole can do this in one night, just imagine what they can do in a week, better yet, a month.

Cole covers the start of the bridge, “your worst fears confirmed… the real is back, K. Dot, it’s your turn, take your victory lap” – it’s nothing but a refreshing victory lap for the young 25-year-old. The reality of it is, when Cole and K. Dot herald “the world hails King Kendrick Lamar”, it doesn’t seem misplaced, it’s nothing but genuine.

Take a listen, I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.
