Not only has Rocky premiered the visual for his hit “F**ckin Problem”, but he has also set a date for the release of his long-awaited LONGLIVEA$AP. Last night, BET’s 106&Park previewed the video for the first time. Rocky is a creative individual, his own directing has led to articulate, interesting videos such as the visual for “Peso”, “Purple Swag”, “Purple Kisses” and “Bath Salt”. The video is set on a backdrop, where the artists come together and play their part in the video. Rocky is shown with a collection of cameos from various dancers, then switching to GOOD Music’s 2 Chainz for the hook. All artists take on a dark-coloured clothing style in the video, Rocky shows that similarity and association between the artists is crucial; he saw this as a collective production, not individual artists writing their verse and just simply putting it on the track. A$AP Rocky shows his fresh and clean style throughout the video, from his movements down to the way he dresses. Then comes Drizzy; Drake has been quietly working on his own music and other collaborations for a while now, fans are awaiting a big announcement soon. But, Drake shows that he’s not going anywhere, not only is his verse impeccable (as are the others), but his confidence is increasing and his versatility is widening. The Canadian bounces around the set switching from outfit to outfit, the t-shirt and sunglasses look shows a whole new Drake, as mentioned before, he’s become a lot more confident. Kendrick Lamar isn’t the most energetic or confident artist in front of the camera, but the Compton golden boy appears to be more self-assured, not surprising after the rocketing sales of his first album good kid, m.A.A.d city. The cameo of Kendrick and Rocky portrays the relationship that is forever growing between the two; hopefully more collaborations between them are to be expected. Enjoy.
